Grasshopper, Then Halloween: Which Side of Macau for a Sauna

After dark, the lamps along the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge run in one unbroken line from Taipa to the peninsula, and the water underneath stretches their reflection out long and thin. If a concert is what brings you to Macau this weekend, each end of that bridge has a night that suits you. It comes down to which day you have and which side you would like to stay on.

The dates first. Grasshopper’s “Three in Love” concert plays the Cotai Arena at The Venetian Macao twice this weekend only, at 8pm on Saturday 24 October and again at 6pm the next day, Sunday the 25th. Halloween falls the following weekend, on Saturday 31 October. The two concert nights are paired by side of the city below, and Halloween has a guide of its own.

Saturday 24 October, Taipa

The Saturday show starts late, so the easy choice afterwards is to stay on this side of the water. Shang Pin Spa is inside Lisboeta Macau, in Cotai like The Venetian itself. The house never closes, therapists are on from 3pm until 6am, and you can stay the night, with a paid private rest room for anyone who wants one. Its Japanese-style bubble bath is listed separately as an add-on, charged on top of the massage. If you want to keep the whole night in Cotai and leave in the morning, Shang Pin is the match.

Manhao Spa is in the Grandview Hotel in Taipa, close to the heart of Cotai. The design runs on a regal theme, with marble walls throughout, and the meals in its marble dining lobby, fried rice, seafood, sandwiches and more, are included. Manhao is open until 6am and does not do overnight stays. For a rest there is the free lounge under its starry ceiling, or a paid private rest room. If you would like to sit down to a proper meal first, then the room, and be back at your hotel before daybreak, choose Manhao.

Sunday 25 October, the peninsula

The Sunday show starts at 6pm, which leaves the whole evening ahead of you. If you are leaving from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal on Monday, this is the night to pick a venue on the harbour side of the peninsula, and both below are in that area.

Batangyu opened only on 26 August, on the 4th floor of the New Orient Landmark Hotel in NAPE, about 2 km from the ferry terminal. It has a glass steam room, a hinoki dry sauna and a hot-pool hall, and its massage rooms come with bathtubs. The house is open around the clock, with therapists on shift from 1pm to 6am. For an overnight stay there is a free rest area in the lobby, and paid private rest rooms if you want quiet. If steam and a hot soak before the room is your idea of a good night, choose Batangyu.

Majesty Spa is on the first floor of the Harbourview Hotel at Fisherman’s Wharf, close to the ferry terminal. It has more than ten theme rooms and one of the most lavish fit-outs in Macau. It too is open 24 hours, with therapists on from 2pm to 6am, and overnight stays are fine, so on a Monday sailing you wake up already near the pier. If you want a themed room in a polished setting and a calm night after it, give Sunday to Majesty.

Saturday 31 October

Halloween falls on a Saturday. Whether you want an early start, an aromatherapy hour or an overnight stay, there is a venue for it, and our Halloween guide already sets them out by time of day.

At these four venues, massages start between MOP 1,999 and 2,399 and the top tiers sit between MOP 6,188 and 7,399, on the October 2026 boards. Majesty’s board prices are all-in, service charge and tax included, Batangyu and Shang Pin add a 10% service charge, and Manhao adds a 5% service charge plus a 5% tourism tax. The final figure is whatever each venue posts on the day, and we check it for you when we quote.
